BRAND

In 1932, a watchmaking legacy was born in Pforzheim, Germany. Since then, Arctos watch production has been driven by innovation, functionality, and traditional reliability. With a long history of accommodating the requirements of military and police forces, Arctos became well known as official standard equipment of the NATO and German Armed Forces. Even today, the Arctos Elite brand is well regarded worldwide as a full range of military watches incorporating both traditional and modern design elements, and extending from naval diver watches to pilot GMT watches.

Over successive generations, Arctos has pushed the limits of its creative powers by incorporating in its luxury watches such elements as robust 316L stainless steel and high-tech ceramic casing, thick anti-reflective sapphire crystals, the best Swiss movements, and screw-down crowns. Arctos Elite brings to the table its extensive knowledge, skills and experiences and is recognized by many watch collectors as cult classics.

RUFUS'S COMMENT

RLD Chief Designer: Rufus Lin

Yes, the precision manufacturing and military-grade specifications of these German-made watches are certainly impressive. But these recent models from Arctos have gone beyond that, offering, in addition, luxury finishing and excellent design of hands and dial. Only a small number are produced each year by skilled watchmakers in a traditional workshop, unlike brands that outsource everything and unlike certain famous brands that use mass production.

There are a number of cool-looking and inexpensive military watches on the market, but if you plan to buy just one military watch, why settle for a quartz watch manufactured using mineral glass and other inexpensive materials and processes? Why not make it a luxury timepiece from a high-end German brand with a rich history, incorporating a beautifully decorated mechanical movement? Arctos is my recommendation when it comes to military watches.
